This week I slowly started my journey of learning the ukulele. I decided that for my first step I needed to learn how to read and write out music sheets. We covered music sheets, and simple counting in our EDCI 306 class and even had two music sheet assignments. I took my time completing the sheets and following along with my profs counting. I found it extremely helpful to have the notes and their beats written out beside me; this allowed me to begin to memorize the notes and their names. At first I found that the worksheet took me a long time to ensure I was doing it correctly, but after reviewing it a few times it became increasingly easier.

I did notice that I became slightly agitated when I was unable to quickly pick up the counting, but once I realized this I gave myself a quick break before I came back to the sheet to complete it. I think it was very important and beneficial for me to recognize my feelings in this experience, as it is something that can be challenging with every new experience that we encounter.
