Since my last post regarding my ukulele engagement, I have proceeded to work on my strumming pattern and integrating chord transitions at the same time. It has been a challenge, I don’t remember anyone telling me how numb my fingers would get after practicing so often, but I really have been enjoying playing the ukulele. I find it extremely calming and a good short brain break from the other projects and activities that I am working on. I have found myself forgetting to post my blogs regarding my progress, but I have been tracking and staying aware of the work I have put in and completed.

It is super fun to be feeling successful in learning a new hobby, and I am super excited to take this new skill into the new year. My ukulele will definitely be coming with me on small adventures 🙂

My biggest takeaway from learning this song, is that practice, practice, practice is necessary in order to be comfortable with chord transitions. I have found it very challenging to switch specifically into Em, I have practiced it constantly and have seen little progression in comparison to the work I have put in. I will still try to keep my head up and continue to practice even though I am becoming frustrated!

My final post regarding the ukulele will be my final video showcasing my playing of Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Israel Kamakawiwoʻole
