Recently for our final project in EDCI 336, my classmate Emma and I chose to research the topic regarding TikTok usage and its relation to being an education resource. This was a super interesting topic that we chose because we all know that TikTok is all the hype right now with younger kids, but did any of you know that people such as Bill Nye even post on TikTok?

Teachers also enjoy posting videos of classroom management and project ideas so that other teacher can use them. This can be super beneficial to teachers who need a boost in their classroom or schoolwork ideas, and it can also help them to engage with their students in a better way. Some teachers also use it to post little reminder/review clips for their students, as well as field trip videos, or study tips. They sometimes even post mini lessons. It is very important that the teacher has permission from the school district as well as the guardians of the students before proceeding with classroom activities that are related with the topic.

Another great use of TikTok in the classroom, is having it be used for students to post their own projects, or short clips that pertain to their knowledge on a certain topic. Again, it is very important to have the guardians permission and to remind the students that privacy settings are very important.

I am going to post a few links to TikTok’s that Emma and I particularly enjoyed, but I do recommend that you take the time to research the educational side of TikTok on your own!!
